The Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana is a Union that has its composition being individual businessmen and women who are basically into the operations of Mobile Money and its related activities like sale of airtime, data, SIM activations, etc. Having to know the critical roles played by the Mobile Money Agents across the country toward the socio-economic needs, it became pertinent to unionize ourselves as Mobile Money Agents in Ghana. This, we believe will give all stakeholders in the Ecosystem and other relevant authorities to effectively implement all needed actions and work together to achieve greater goals. By this, the MMAAG is expected to have representatives across the sixteen regions with their respective MMDAs.
Just like any other workers Union, qualification as a member of the Mobile Money Agents Association of Ghana is strictly by proof of ownership and operation of a MoMo business anywhere in Ghana.
Registration and issuance of membership ID are electronically done with very limited human interaction. Because the membership is electronically generated, it becomes impossible to fake membership with MMAAG. Each member is electronically given a seven-digit unique number upon registration as membership identification. In order to formalise and gain the needed recognition and voice as Mobile Money Agents, there’s the need for the over 300,000 Agents to become members of the MMAAG. The MMAAG has the potential to achieve more when we achieve the collective aim of becoming one.
Our doors are open and ready to receive any recommendations and supports as we grow the Union to unleash the numerous opportunities to our members.

In as much as MTN is concerned with agents who indulge in fraudulent activities that will run down their business, they should also be EQUALLY CONCERNED with the arm robbery ,the killings , unnecessary police arrest , acid baths etc. that we the agents also go through. It is so sad that all the appeals by MMAAG to the Telcos and the Government to get us off from the problems seems to have fallen on deaf ears and seen as noise making.
Am yet to see measures to be put in place by the authorities concerned to free us from this menace and provide us with a conducive environment to go about our business.
The Telcos should remember that the menace that is visited on us render us fear , jobless , incapacity and in some cases takes away our lives and ALL our capital living our families with no one to take care of them. The loss MTN incurs throuh agent non compliance is just a peanut and CANNOT be compared in anyway to our lives. The better mtn finds measures to curb this arthrocities metted on us the better it be for all of us.

MTN for you.
